Volkswagen is making a world debut at the IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover this week with its new design study for a pick-up.
The pickup is set to create new standards in its sector and will be built in late 2009 with a view to being sold in South America and Europe.
Also debuting at the show is the Caddy PanAmerica, a concept car which is based on the Caddy 4MOTION sporting 16-inch off road tyres and leather upholstery.
The Caddy 4MOTION is aimed at left-hand drive markets only, and has a fuel-efficient 1.9-litre TDI 104 PS engine with a fourth-generation Haldex coupling and a six-speed manual gearbox.
A Volkswagen Crafter BlueMotion concept will also debut at the show, demonstrating the potential fuel economy that could be offered by a large panel van. It uses AdBlue technology to reduce fuel consumption and achieve compliance with Euro V regulations.
An additional outdoor display by Volkswagen will include around 30 vehicles produced by various specialist converters all based on models from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
The IAA Commericial Vehicle Show runs from 25 September to 2 October 2008 and Volkswagen can be located at stand 12. For further information visit www.iaa.de
