track© Adfero Ltd Motorists have been warned to ensure that their driving instructor is legitimate and not a fraud.

The Driving Standards Agency's Fraud & Integrity Team commented that it is looking into more than 400 cases of such illegal behaviour in the UK currently.

Car and van drivers could be risking their personal safety in addition to their chances of learning to drive correctly by taking a lesson with a false teacher.

"If illegal instructors are on our roads they have not passed the agency's rigorous three part test to ensure that they are meeting the highest standards of safety. This puts all our lives at risk," said the official.

This comes as driving instructors in Wellingborough are protesting the closure of a test centre in the area.

According to the Northamptonshire Evening Telegraph, a go-slow convoy through Burton Latimer, Barton Seagrove and Kettering included over 60 teachers.ADNFCR-679-ID-18595451-ADNFCR
