People increasingly logging on for van insurance © Adfero Ltd The number of people heading to the internet when they need a car or van insurance policy has increased in the past year, according to new statistics.Figures from comScore released in the 2008 comScore Online Automobile Insurance Report show that there has been a three per cent rise in the amount of consumers using the world wide web to pick up a policy this year compared to 2007. Kevin Levitt, comScore vice president, remarked that industry habits among consumers are shifting and that people are turning away from traditional methods of buying insurance. He said: "These latest findings show us that the landscape is beginning to change, with more and more consumers turning from traditional, offline channels to the internet." This comes as research from Sainsbury's has found that 1.15 million people in the UK have driven a car without insurance in the past year.
