623 vehicles seized in rogue driver campaign © Adfero Ltd Police in Suffolk have revealed the number of vehicles they have seized over the first four months of a campaign against rogue drivers, it has been reported.According to the Lowestoft Journal, some 623 car and vans were taken off the road during the period - 585 of which were being penalised for not having a car or van insurance policy. Such a conviction can prove to be a problem when motorists take out a cover deal, as firms could judge them to be a road risk and increase costs as a result. Alex Morrison, road policing and support inspector, remarked that that Suffolk police "are committed to tackling crime and reducing anti-social behaviour". He said: "Research has shown that there is a clear link between criminality and offenders who commit vehicle document offences. This enforcement campaign is a powerful means of disrupting criminal activity." Last week, the Ipswich Evening Star reported that three motorists in Suffolk were banned from the road for drink-driving.
