The Birmingham-based company manufactures and distributes its award-winning Maxus range around the world. With an annual turnover of £160 million, its vehicles can be found throughout Europe, the Middle West and the Asian Pacific Rim. Since launching in 2005 Maxus has won many accolades and awards - in its first year of existence it took four of the UK's top awards, followed by a further two in 2006. Awards to date include the PVLT combi and minibus of the year 2007, ITM van of the year 2007 and best newcomer in the 2005 What Van? awards. Sales in 2007 were 28 per cent up on the previous year, with a doubling in output of Maxus vehicles, productivity improvements of 38 per cent, 200 new jobs created and a new £6 million chassis cab manufacturing line. Last year saw the introduction of 12, 15 and 17-seat minibuses, a range of chassis cabs and two new engine variants. Tony Lewis, sales and marketing director, is extremely pleased with the progress made. He said: "This has been a remarkable year for us. We have achieved a great deal in a very short time frame and had the most successful year, as a business, in over a decade. "We've invested in more skilled labour, raised our efficiencies and increased production levels to meet demand." Vans are delivered to customers in four weeks and minibuses within six - delivery times which LDV says are some of the best van drivers will find in the industry. Mr Lewis added: "Our latest customer research shows that one thing that annoys both retail customers and fleets is the long wait for delivery once an order has been placed." Around 900 people produce 13,000 vehicles each year and every one is covered by the Maxus One commercial vehicle support package. This ensures ownership of a Maxus vehicle is effortless, reliable and hassle free, while minimising downtime and maximising productivity through unrivalled support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Each vehicle comes with a four year, 120,000-mile warranty and a two year Maxus Assist roadside programme, valid throughout Europe to give international van drivers peace of mind wherever they are on the continent. The two year, comprehensive, complimentary cover can be extended to provide support for the full warranty period from 30p per day for UK cover and 45p per day for European cover. LDV technicians drive fully equipped Maxus mobile workshop recovery vehicles featuring the latest vehicle location systems to locate drivers faster. Vehicles carry £2,000-worth of parts, allowing three-quarters of repairs to be carried out at the roadside, allowing van drivers to be on their way again with the minimum of hassle. Should anything need to be ordered, 8am next day delivery is available on all items requested before 6pm, minimising the time a vehicle is out of use. Furthermore, the dedicated Maxus Insurance cover gives drivers very competitive rates, whether a sole trader or fleet manager, providing comprehensive cover for every business need. Commercial insurance quotes can be tailored to suit individual requirements, so van drivers can protect their vehicles, business, customers, passengers and themselves. LDV understands that buying a van is not a one-off transaction and its comprehensive services programme will fulfil any requirement further down the line. Appointments can be booked online for convenience and will be confirmed by the nearest dealer within 24 hours and guaranteed to take place within 48 hours. Recognising that every second a van driver is off the road can cost money, 95 per cent of the UK's van drivers are within 20 minutes-drive of the LDV network. The 2008 model enhancements now include a range of new features as standard, including CD player with MP3 compatibility, ABS and EBD and a driver's height rise seat. LDV says its ability to build the exact vehicle for a customer's requirements, whether it be a mobile post office, dedicated school bus or a standard van for trades people, it is committed discontinued expansion and enhancement to make the Maxus range the most diverse and flexible in the commercial van market. |
